The Raven Sees All

"You cannot blame me," the raven said, "Ultimately, you brought this on yourself."

"It was just a joke," I said, "I wanted to laugh."

"Eventually, you must have realized that the irony and laughter wore off. Now all you're faced with is a genuine part of you."

"I can stop anytime! Honestly!"

"And yet you do it everyday."

I realized that the raven was right. Sure, I always tried to hide it, but deep down, I knew that I was actively indulging.

"Accept this ego as your own," the raven said.

"But then society will shun me. Everyone will find out and make my life Hell!"

"Haven't you thought of expressing yourself? Your true self wishes to unleash its primal instincts and delicate beauties. There are others like you in this world. You have witnessed it from afar, and yet you refuse communication."

"They're better off unaware of my existence! I want absolutely no connection with them whatsoever!"

"Impossible! Care to explain your dreams?"

My dreams? No… It can't possibly know about how they haunt my dreams, nor how I want them to haunt my dreams!

"Your attempts at summoning them have been futile, and yet you still try. Truly, your id and superego are in conflict," they said.

"How can you possibly know about my desires?"

"Face it. You wish to explore and view alternate versions of yourself."

"Will they think that I'm non-human?"

"In this day and age, people like you are more accepted."

"I'm too attached to my doubts!"

"I suppose that you will spend the rest of your life in purgatory then."

The raven flew away trapping me.
